Facebook has finally addressed the extremely frustrating and annoying issues faced while surfing the social network app on mobile devices which have a lower internet connectivity bandwidth.
The social network giant has secretly launched a new Android app named Facebook Lite which is practically a lighter and faster version of its existing Facebook application.
Facebook Lite is:
– Fast to install — the app is less than 1 MB
– Quick to load
– Efficient with data
– Designed for 2G networks and areas with limited network connectivity
Facebook Lite, a super lightweight version of its app directed at developing markets.
It drastically reduces the App Overhead.
Currently, the app is only available officially in a few countries—Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria, South Africa, Sudan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Zimbabwe—but there download the APK for yourself, it’s unlikely to stay within those limited countries for long.
The APK is about 252KB only, as opposed to the 26.68 MB Android app and 70.1MB Facebook iOS app that the main Facebook app can usually take up, so if you’re using any older device, a slower network, or if you don’t want any extra stuff, then Facebook Lite is probably exactly what you were looking for.2
This version of Facebook uses less data and works in all network conditions.
